GOVERNING BODY

The School Governing Body (SGB) at Durban Preparatory High School plays an essential role in supporting the school’s continued excellence. Convened in accordance with the South African Schools Act No. 84 of 1996, the SGB helps shape the long-term strategic direction of DPHS and ensures that our values, policies, and planning continue to serve the best interests of every Prep boy.

ROLE OF THE SGB

The Governing Body focuses on:
Strategic guidance and governance
School policy development
Oversight of financial planning
Support for school improvement initiatives

While the SGB provides strategic support and oversight, day-to-day operations and school management remain the responsibility of the Headmaster and the school’s professional leadership team.

This clear structure ensures that the school continues to run efficiently, while remaining aligned with its long-term mission and values.
